As the night drags on

So tired. But I shall attempt to recap a bit anyway! In that sense, this post will be slightly boring. I will try to make up for this tomorrow with pictures! You'll understand the context by the time you get to the end of this.

Thursday:
- Papa's birthday! =)
- Wendy's birthday! =)
- Called Brown to check on wait list status. It's actually a wait pool. Surprise! Not really, but good to know. More relevant note: There hasn't been any movement from the wait 'pool' yet. I don't anticipate there will be until end of April / early May.
- Twins picked me up for our trip to Silver Spring
- Met up w/ Di at Qdoba, had a delicious lunch for pretty cheap ($3 each -- yay for 50% specials!)
- Went to see Alice in Wonderland at Majestic! We were four of six people in the theater, which was awesome, lol. But then what do you expect for a 2:50pm show on a Thursday, lol. The movie? Was AWESOME. Granted, not as weird as I had expected, perhaps even hoped, but I enjoyed it a lot regardless. It was almost...cute. The Mad Hatter was my absolute favorite -- Johnny Depp rocked it. Seriously rocked it. I know I'm a fan anyway, so maybe this seems biased, but he's just too good. The Hatter's character was almost adorable, while being crazy, strange, almost-creepy. How does he do that? Also, the Scottish accent! Yay! Other characters of note: the Cheshire Cat, Absalom (Alan Rickman! Too bad we didn't get to hear his voice on a butterfly...), Bayard, the Rabbit, the Mad Hare, the White Queen (lol @ Anne Hathaway, who was hilarious), the Red Queen (so preposterous! But so funny!)... I feel like they were others, but I'm not remembering.
- Metro-ed to Linden's! Well, to her Metro stop, where she picked me up. We hung out in her backyard for awhile, then eventually headed in and talked for a loong time. Then her parents got home, and we hung out with them for awhile, and watched an episode of White Collar while dinner was in the works.
- Dinner! Heart-stopping, artery-clogging mac and cheese, from what I'm told, and boy was it good. Dinner with Linden and her parents was a delightful affair =) They rock!
- Post-dinner, which ended around... I'm going to ball-park it at 11pm or something (granted, we started late, around 9:30ish?), I finally got Linden to watch Iron Man! And she liked it a lot! So I feel vindicated =D haha.
- Slept at 2am.

Friday:
- Woke up at 10am, ate breakfast, got ready for hiking! Left the house around noon, headed to Great Falls to trek the Billy Goat Trail.
- YAY HIKING! It was such a fun experience! The trail wasn't too hard, luckily, since I'm a first-time hiker. We made it about a third of the way up (down?) the trail, but it was flooded at some spot along the trail, and we somehow got spun around and ended up back where we'd started. We gave up, at first, just going down the tow path (the cleared path for non-hikers and people walking their dogs and bikers, etc), where we came upon the emergency access trailpath! Which took us back to the trail only a short distance past the farthest spot we'd reached, before those boys pointed us in the wrong direction!
- We finished the trail, continued up to the path a bit to look over a part of the falls (though apparently it wasn't the falls, so I can't yet say I've been to Great Falls =P), then saw Dan Chamberlain on our way back. This was amusing for a couple of reasons, especially since Linden goes to school with him and can never escape him.
- Back to Linden's house all sweaty and gross to eat lunch and clean up (we got back around 4pm). Then Linden dropped me back at the Metro station, and I bussed back home, where my mom picked me up, took my exhausted self back home for a few minutes, then pulled me along for a trip to the temple, which was fun, though I was SO TIRED by the end of the night.

Saturday:
- ...nothing of note. I've been cleaning out papers from 7th-10th grade for the past couple of hours, which is simultaneously annoying and nostalgia-inducing. Good times. I found personal life goals I wrote for myself in 8th grade, and a story explaining Vizzini's past (from The Princess Bride), among other things.

And now, I am exhausted. Time for sleep! Trying my best not to think about my last day of break, aka tomorrow. Oops...I just did. Oh! And tomorrow's pictures will be from the trail.
