I don't really feel like being productive right now, so I'll take a leaf out of Di's book and actually try to chronicle my summer for once. I'm not too good at writing regularly, though, so we'll see how this works out.
End of finals / summer kicked off to an unexpectedly decent start, considering I came out of finals thinking this might be my worst semester yet. I hated all my classes, save for my Honors seminar, and consequently didn't put too much effort into any of them. Despite that, though, I still managed to pull off one of my best semesters, pending Management grades, but as long as I didn't screw up my math (*cough* Di *cough*), I'm golden there, too. So, yay! =D Unfortunately, this is positive reinforcement for negative behavior. Unless I like my classes next semester, in which case it won't matter. We shall see. *dun dun dun*
I didn't get much sleep during finals week, but that's ok -- it was "fun" in its own right. Last final ended Monday @ 12:30pm, so afterward, Di and I went to go see Angels and Demons. I enjoyed it significantly more than The Da Vinci Code. It might be partially b/c I haven't read the book already, but I just think it was a much better movie, relatively. From previews, I can't wait to see: Public Enemies, Pelham 123, Transformers 2... can't think of any others right now. I didn't see a Sherlock Holmes trailer, but I'm kinda curious about that one, too.
The movie was preceded by Qdoba, and followed up by a 2-hr 24 season finale, watched while downing some Riesling, which was yummy! The finale, however, sucked. Worst 24 finale I have seen yet (and I've seen 6 of the 7). Wth. Not going to dwell on that.
Tuesday, I was kinda productive in the morning, then went over to Di's to make homemade pizza (I confess, he did more of the work, but I did help spread the dough, and decorate it!), which was also yummy! TQ got back from her hell day of finals, and we ate pizza and chilled on the sofa, where I fell asleep, then TQ did. I ended up napping there for ~3hrs (sorry about that, Di) -- good stuff.
Wednesday was lunch out w/ my lab. We went to Woodlands in Langley Park. Maybe my standards are too high, but their buffet wasn't all that great. Regardless, good times w/ the lab folk, esp Ian, Vlad, and Naili. KK drove me back home (as in, home home) afterward -- had to be home before my grandfather got dropped off.
Slept in Thursday, and wasted 2.5hrs on the phone w/ Dell before they finally accepted that yes, my wireless card has a hardware problem. No, the router is not broken -- there are TWO OTHER LAPTOPS currently using it. Sheesh. Frustrating.
I had a couple errands to run on campus on Friday, so I took the 8:30 bus in. Shadow picked me up ~1:30, and we took the Metro to DC and hung out for a few hours. We grabbed lunch at Potbelly's, then swung by the Corcoran Museum, which was surprisingly really cool. It's more contemporary art exhibits, some really nifty ones, especially the live 3D landscape art, among other things. And the Niagara Falls painting was breathtaking. From there, we went to check out a bookstore his sister had told him about, but it was eh, so we headed back to CP. Stopped by the Silver Spring Mayorga for awhile -- fun tradition, after all =) Then he was nice enough to swing by the Dollar Store so I could pick up birthday and graduation balloons for my cousin before dropping me home. Too bad he's heading back to WashU in another week and a half or so =/
My family and I swung by my cousin's house Friday night to belatedly give her her birthday present -- she just got back from NYU this past Wednesday. Her brother, my other cousin, is heading back to NY next weekend =/ Not many people are sticking around this summer. Chelsaz was in town for two days, but we didn't get a chance to meet up, and she won't be back 'til very late in August. Shrimp's gonna be back while we're away in India. Shadow may be back, may not be. *pout*
Shrimp, Megh and I went to RyLy's house Saturday afternoon to celebrate his graduation -- saw Ro, Rev, and Albert there, too. We had a fun time playing The Game of Life. Rev somehow had a grandkid without ever having a kid... lol. Then we had some amazing food, some of it Viet, most of it not really. Good stuff regardless. Yum =D I seem to be saying that a lot...
Sunday, Mama and I were out a good portion of the day grocery shopping and whatnot. Got back a bit later than expected, made mac and cheese for Sonu's graduation shindig, then headed over there. Neeru didi & co were there, including the kids, who were a blast. They are so cute and smart. I love kids.
We got back from there ~midnight, and nothing of note has happened since. Hung out at home w/ Megh today, watched some CSI:NY reruns on Spike, worked a bit on my AMCAS app -- boring stuff, mostly. And here I am, writing about it. But, mom and dad are almost home, so I'm off to make 'em some chai. Write more later!
(Not bad for a first summary post, if I do say so myself)
(And starting today, I'm gonna use nicknames where I can. It's more fun =D)
Fun fact: T.F.O.A. = Things Falling Off Aircraft

Yay for blogging! I like the nicknames. And it took me entirely too long to realize what your last LJ entry meant.
glad you had fun and enjoyed the food at my house! i think the nicknames are fun too, still unsure of a bunch, but i probably don't know them.
I was wondering why it took you so long to comment here ;) haha. At least you figured it out eventually =D
And Ryan -- you know all but one of the people, I think. You probably figured out Ro and Rev already, possibly Shrimp. If you're curious, I can tell you who's who ;) The only person you don't actually know is Di, who's a college friend.
